A.B.O.U.T. Behavior #4 : Blurting
You might swear out loud if you hit your finger with a hammer. When someone cuts you off on the highway, you might, in the privacy of your car, scream a slur about the other driver’s mother. But most of us constrain our commentary when we converse in public. Many people with ADHD, however, have limited ability to control their impulses, and habitually blurt out their inner thoughts. Mr. Trump demonstrated this trait numerous times last week, most notably when he said “China should start an investigation into the Bidens.”
Several Republican senators and representatives defended Mr. Trump by trying to spin his comments as jokes or intentional provocations. While such motivations may have contributed to the verbal slip, evidence indicates both that Mr. Trump actually believed what he said, and that his lawyer, aides and allies wished he had shown more restraint.
The record shows that Mr. Trump has repeatedly, in public and in private, encouraged foreigners to investigate his political enemies. The China request fits this prevailing pattern. All of his actions and statements support that Mr. Trump really does want the Chinese to uncover information that incriminates Joe and Hunter Biden.
