My only quibble is with the comment that DeSantis " would lose all credibility as governor" if he declares that he is running for the presidency right after being re-elected. (And he isn't a certain shoe-in for this re-election.) In the present day era of right wing hero-worship, I'm not sure that this would hurt him either with Florida or national Republicans. Fox news would continue to build him up and push it as evidence of how fortunate Floridians are to have a figure of national importance as their governor.
