Even if we accepted their "logic" that would mean that the 2nd Amendment doesn't say anything regarding modern rifles, pistols, machine guns, or automatic arms, since they didn't exist two hundred plus years ago. So by their thinking there could not be any reason to restrict modern laws that regulate or completely ban ownership of these weapons.
