I agree that the relationship between individuals and society is a big ingredient in any suicide. While I think that there are many toxic aspects to our capitalistic society, it is worth pointing out that suicide rates are not lower in communist countries. It is the social democracies, that on average, seem to be doing a somewhat better job of taking care of most individuals.
