I am well aware that there are more than two political parties, but for better or worse, all of the political power and media attention in the US have been controlled by just two parties for at least a century.

I don't feel that I'm primarily coming from a place of ire, rather a desire to understand behavior that seems both irrational and unhelpful. The related article I have been working on addresses that currently the two parties have very different ideas regarding what "truth" and "right" mean.
