I can't make specific medical recommendations, but I would advise anyone to give a DORA at least a week before you give up on it. Also remember that the first few nights without xanax it will be harder to get to sleep because of rebound insomnia. Some people add a DORA on to their existing sleep regimen, and then, after a week or two, wean off their initial agents.
