I like that you highlighted that science is often better at disproving claims than at proving them. So often people make connections based on personal experience and feel that shows a causal connection.

One example: My kid began displaying signs of autism after getting vaccination, therefore the shots were the cause of it. But when repeated investigations fail to find any association between vaccination and developing autism, we can pretty safely say that vaccines do not seem to be driving recent increases in the rates of autism. And we can make this statement without even which factors are important for contributing to origin of autism.
