If only it were that simple. Liberals have been running San Francisco for most of the last half century, and this level of problematic behavior has only been this extreme for the last decade or less. And plenty of cities under Republican control have also had similar problems.

I don’t think compassion is the problem, I think compassion unsupported by programs and structures to help those who need it might be a more accurate diagnosis.
