I'm a fan of endocrinologist Robert Lustig, who has been writing about the societal problems connected with too much sugar, for many years.

But most of the information I have seen suggested that US sugar consumption peaked around 2000 and has been declining slowly. If you have other data on this, I would greatly appreciate having the references.

The current evidence implicating sugar in increasing rates of ADHD increasing is rather weak compared to some of the other factors. It doesn't seem to match the most recent surge, which overlapped very closely with the COVID pandemic.
