My clinical impression is that getting sleep regulated (not just sufficient duration, but the same time each night) is the single most powerful non-medication intervention for helping those with ADHD get their lives on track. And often starting medication simultaneously with attention to sleep works well. Regular sleep helps people be more consistent wth their medication, and the medication can help improve waking/sleeping patterns.
