My point is that millions are taking a drug with a profound impact on brains and behavior, and we have barely scraped the surface of knowing what the long term impacts on mental health might be. For a decade and a half, all that the medical community looked at was on the effects on the body below the neck. It may turn out wonderfully for everyone. Or not.
I haven't objected to people with diabetes or obesity using Ozempic or related medications. I am questioning whether we should be pushing it for other uses which are still poorly researched. Preventing potentially life threatening conditions would be far more efficient than trying to address them after they arise.
