Are any other pathways being explored for how statins might affect cognition? So many of our other drugs have multiple biologic targets on cells in our body - sometimes leading to good things (the antiviral amantadine being helpful for Parkinson's and maybe Alzheimer's) and other times to unexpected adverse effects.
