Thanks for providing information about an important side effect of statins, and clearly detailing how low cholesterol might be the source of cognitive problems. Are any other pathways being explored for how statins might affect cognition? So many of our other drugs have multiple biologic targets on cells in our body - sometimes leading to good things (the antiviral amantadine being helpful for Parkinson's and maybe Alzheimer's) and other times to unexpected adverse effects.
