But if fluoridation was the major problem driving Alzheimer's we would be seeing variations in rates of dementia in areas with naturally low versus high fluoridation, and we would expect lower rates of dementia in communities that outlawed additional fluoridation decades ago. The data simply doesn't support a strong connection between Alzheimer's and exposure to fluoride.
