That may well be true, but until we have another viable option, we have two choices, and to pretend, after the events of the past week that there is no difference between the two parties is incomprehensible. One party is anti-abortion, anti-gay rights, anti-environment, anti-gun regulation, and anti voting rights. I agree that the Democrats have not done enough to counter the Republicans, but to pretend that these positions represent Democratic policy is counterfactual.
