The business divisions of Big Pharma companies have behaved unethically. But lots of bright and caring researchers at these companies have also brought powerfully helpful medications to the public. So I struggle to balance those when evaluating Big Pharma.

My feelings are less ambiguous with the insurance companies that have run the medical world for several decades now. In the past, I think one could imagine that they provided a valuable service, of protecting individuals from financial catastrophe from medical problems. There's very little pretense that they even do that any more.
