Very good points. I know that the California Acad Science researchers have studied Sparrows in Golden Gate Park, and background noise does make birds put more energy/resources into singing louder to be heard above the background. There were also lots of popular articles around pandemic altering city noise patterns and how that affected wildlife.

The last third of my book goes into a host of social/environmental feedback loops that I think are making both full fledged and sub-syndromal ADHD more common (sleeping patterns, eating patterns, screen use, social media). I didn't include noise.
